a list of things northside youth need to do together:

-Biblestudy
-game night
-canoe trip (not for college kids)
-Psalm sing
-visit a nursing home
-camp fire
-bake day and give our products to families in need, maybe the guys could go and work for the same families
-skit night
-watch a movie, aka Lord of the Rings, etc

among many other things. I am not sure why I am making this list but I think we need to start doing this tuff together, we won't have to call it a youth group we could just do it.

Interesting list. There is a Psalm sing ministry already going on at a nursing home now.

Good idea. It's too bad there aren't such things going on. Do some in the congregation have a problem with youth groups?

touchy question, some congargations have issues with such a thing yes, ours being one. I am not sure why but because I am a member of our church I have chosen rather then rebeling against authority to simply to add to what is exceptable.

To the person who just listed reasons why we shouldn't do these things together, I just want to say that the stuff our church does together is great, and I strongly encourage us all to attend these events but that does not by any means suggest that we should not do stuff together also. Why can't we add to this list?

Does the Institute oppose youth groups?

I think some of those things would be cool to do.

Though I'm officially out of high school, I think you are absolutely right Becca. I think there is an age group that the church does not have activities for. When i went through that age i really wished there were more activities that i could be a part of.

to anonymous my church has elder bible studys and so does my youth group the difference between those two is that the youth group bible study focuses more on issues teens would be dealing with.

we should totally go to the Elder fellowship group things, because we are the youth of the church, this is our calling. We need to be around our elders, and learn from them, and they also can benifit from our insights on life.

Nonetheless, I think it would be a benifit to us to get together and build eachother up is spirit and in truth. One of the ways we could do this is by meeting regularly to share true fellowship and dig deep into God's Word together.
