Sunday, October 10

"And if they ask you, 'Where shall we go?' tell them, 'This is what the LORD says:
'Those destined for death, to death;
Those for the sword, to the sword;
Those for starvation, to starvation;
Those for captivity, to captivity.'

Jeremiah 15:2

I just stumbled upon this in my quiet time. In all my years of study I don't remember this verse. Some don't see predestination, or they see it but draw a line somewhere. This verse makes it hard to deny that God is just, and He has every right to send some of us to Hell. Every possible right.

yes, God has the right to send us all to hell! i agree! but he didnt take that right into reality, he gave his son to die for this whole messed up world, and desires that ALL come to him. and all are destined to die, and thats all the verse says, not if there destined to hell or heaven, im destined to die, and so are you all.

peace

Ethan,
The verse isn't just saying that we are all destined to death. (first of all we may not be, because if Jesus comes while we are living then we won't ever die. pretty cool)
The verse also says that some, are going to be captured, this is part of God's plas. Some are going to be killed by the sword, all to the glory of God. Some are going to starve, and God is still good.

ethan, God does have the right do send some to Hell. You are right. And He took that right. He is good, but He is just.
