Slow Dance

Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask "How are you?"
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?

You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say "Hi"?

You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.

Amen! lol

We all need a week of rest... Nah, make it a couple... Nah, make it more than a couple... More than Christmas vacation. It should be in the middle of the school year and not summer break... *sigh*

Guys, the point of the poem is that no matter how 'busy' you are there is more to life. You can't say you'll apply the peom once you have less to do, it doesn't work that way.

Just take a deep breath and learn to dance a little slower, because you never know what the day may hold, although you may know what the duties are you have in it.

I know Becca. I've known that for awhile, and it's a good poem. It isn't easy to do. Mainly because of school work. It'd be a wonderful thing to do, and it's important that we get to control life, and not let life control us.

As I said before though, it isn't easy to do. There're demands in life we can't always ignore unfortunately. To slow down tiss a dream, which I will always attempt, and will achieve.

so is this original? American dream by casting crowns has a similar message and they manage to include some excellent rocking guitars. I suggest you listen to that song if you have not already. also this is your time by michael w smith is similar.
