hi... bye

I am going to be at winter conference for the next week so don't miss me too much. Although I really don't post more then that anyway so it isn't that big of a deal.
I was thinking about how cool it is that we are all in a 'safe' place, fed, warm (relativly speaking), clean, loved, and cared for. Why aren't we more happy you guys? Sure there are things in this world that make us sad, but this place is not are home! We are going to a better place. That is another thing:
I am a child of God, and most of you are also. Therefore why don't we beam all the time? Sure it is ok to cry, but we shouldn't be sad all the time. Hey if you got to then you need to write a new list of things that make you beam... here are some more of mine:
-drinking warm and intense coffee (I think I will go make some)
-saying something at the same time and in the same way as one of my dreaest friends
-singing the Psalms with people that love them as much as I do
-hearing my favorite song on the radio... and being able to blast it
-brushing my hair... weird I know but hey I never said the list had to be normal
-getting a phone call without expecting it
-waking up to the sunrise
-getting complamented by someone who knows what they are talking about
-giving someone a gift that they absolutly love
-
dancing in the rain
-hearing the wind, and having it wrap my flowy skirt around my legs and play with my hair
-getting fun comments on my blog
-seeing the moon
-finding a $20 in my coat (who says it has to have happened to you)
-pretty painted toenails
-curls
-milkshakes and good books
-laughing so hard that it makes my tummy feel funny
-watching 'the best movie ever' and crying
-talking to someone about nothing at all... then talking about everything
-flowers
-candles... I play with the wax
-long emails
-getting teased by... people
-odd things that make everyone think I am weird but make me feel good
-back rubs
-thirty minutes soaking in steaming hot spicy water
-party clean ups
-weddings and helping with them
-full calendars
-'I will never let go' hugs
-watching people I love do something cool

Ok well have a great week you guys. I wanted to tell you Merry Christmas! Also, please remember that I will be gone so there is no reason to yell at me for not posting. Emial and post on the blog so that when I get back on Friday I will be happy.

Wednesday, December 22

Hi guys

It is Christmas break and I am very happy. Seems like breaks are much deserved and rarely given. Anyways I was thinking that we should do something simluar to my list a couple posts back. I really liked what you all posted on that because it was so encouraging.
I want to know everyone's most encouraging/happiest verse of the Bible. There is no right answer and I want everyone to pick something different ok. You can write out more then one, and yes I want to you type out the whole verse so people can read it. Thanks yoy guys. Merry Christmas.

"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, and are called according to His purpose.
For whoe He foreknew He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first-born amoung many bretheren;
and whom he predestined, these He also called; and whom he called, these He also justified, these Je also glorified.
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered HIm up for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?
What will bring charge to God's elect? God is the one who justifies;
who is the onw who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who us raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.
Who shall seperate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?"

You may ask why that makes me happy. If you don't get it then... I am sorry because it is a beautiful thing and I hope that someday your eyes will be open to behold the glory of the love of God. He loves me. It makes me very happy. *big grin*

hi guys

Well I got a whole bunch of interesting commments on the last post. Thanks guys, it makes me feel loved (no pun intended). I don't want to write about how busy my life is, or about how much school I have before next week.
Hey, you need to smile ok. Smile right now for absolutly no reason at all. If you can't do that, then there is something wrong with you. I shall help. You know that song 'These are a few of My Favorite Things'? Ok well I am going to make a list of our favorite things. I shall start it and you can add to it at will. One rule ok, you can't diss somebodies elses favorite thing and you can't write something that trully isn't very specail to you. Ok so I guess that was two but please take seriously.

Here is the start:
rose buds
coffee
snow flakes
Mr. Pig that I can't fall asleep without
fun gel pens
good books
emails
fresh baked bread
happy kids
warm bathes
dollar bills

Ok I could go on and on but I am going to let you guys take it from here. This list is a refereance point so that we can look back and smile, for a reason.

love, life, and the like

Love is not an easy thing to do. What is frusterating about the English language is that we don't have four or five words for the word 'love'. We have one. In the dictionary love means to desire someone, or to have a great affection for. It can mean to enjoy and like something rather shallow, or it can mean the action God took towards man, all wrapped up in the same word. God defined love. It isn't a feeling or an emotion. If it were, then I think it would be easier to show it. I am a very emotional person and love doesn't come naturally.
I heard this song once, that said that love was not a feeling, but an act of the will. I agree. To really love someone it isn't like an underlying emotion that pulses through a person every moment. It is better discribed as a act. Love is the things we do. When I am being pateint I am loving. When I responding kindly I am loving. On the other hand when I react in anger I am not loving. etc etc.
When we really love someone it doesn't matter what they do, nor what they look like. Who they are with, or what they say have little consequence. This is best demostarted by Christ. We were the most discusting beings before He saved us. He loved us with an everlasting love that is abloslutly the most undiscribable thing. We hated Him. He loved us. Jesus didn't walk around Isreal thinking mushy gushy thoughts about His people. He loved them. Love is like the life. Every love has a story... and without God there would be none. God is love.

hi

What do you guys think about the Biblical ground for having fun? I will give a prize to the person who can give the best example/verse from the Bible. I mean mainly having fun together, and just being happy.

Sunday, December 5

Hi, this is me. I am going to tell you that this blog thing is not as cracked up as they say. I have to spend a whole lot of time posting. If I don't then there are problems. I mean no one comments or reads anymore if I don't post. I suppose that is obvious.
Anyways life is good. I have a ton of school. The Christmas season is very busy for me because I go to and host a whole bunch of parties. That isn't bad it is just... very busy.

that is all I have to say for now... chat later... I hope.

wedding

Attending a wedding for the first time, a little girl whisperedto her mother, "Why is the bride dressed in white?" "Because white is the color of happiness and today is thehappiest day of her life." Her mother tried to explain, keepingit simple. The child thought about this for a moment, then said, "So, why isthe groom wearing black?"

English. I know this is long, but it is really funny.

English is the most widely used language in the history of our planet. One in every 7 humans can speak it. More than half of the world's books and 3 quarters of international mail is in English. Of all the languages,it has the largest vocabulary - perhaps as many as 2 MILLION words. Nonetheless, let's face it - English is a crazy language. There is no egg in eggplant nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple. English muffins weren't invented in England or French fries in France. Sweetmeats are candies while sweetbreads, which aren't sweet, are meat.
We take English for granted. But if we explore its paradoxes, we find that quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig.
And why is it that writers write but fingers don't fing, grocers don't groce and hammers don't ham? If the plural of tooth is teeth, why isn't the plural of booth beeth? One goose, 2 geese. So one moose, 2 meese? One index, 2 indices?
Doesn't it seem crazy that you can make amends but not one amend, that you comb thru annals of history but not a single annal? If you have a bunch of odds and ends and get rid of all but one of them, what do you call it?
If teachers taught, why didn't preacher praught? If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat? If you wrote a letter, perhaps you bote your tongue?
Sometimes I think all the English speakers should be committed to an asylum for the verbally insane. In what language do people recite at a play and play at a recital? Ship by truck and send cargo by ship? Have noses that run and feet that smell?
How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same, while a wise man and wise guy are opposites? How can overlook and oversee be opposites, while quite a lot and quite a few are alike? How can the weather be hot as hell one day and cold as hell another?
Have you noticed that we talk about certain things only when they are absent? Have you ever seen a horseful carriage or a strapful gown? Met a sung hero or experienced requited love? Have you ever run into someone who was combobulated, gruntled, ruly or peccable? And where are all those people who ARE spring chickens or who would ACTUALLY hurt a fly?
You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language in which your house can burn up as it burns down, in which you fill in a form by filling it out and in which an alarm clock goes off by going on.
English was invented by people, not computers, and it reflects the creativity of the human race (which, of course, isn't a race at all). That is why, when the stars are out, they are visible, but when the lights are out, they are invisible. And why, when I wind up my watch, I start it, but when I wind up this essay, I end it.
